Snow storm in April!

There is nothing like living in the UP and getting 12 inches of snow dumped on you in the middle of April! Here are a couple of pics of K & K with their snow man.

K & K turn 2!!!!!!!

It is so hard to believe, but the twins turned 2 on April 5th. We had a birthday party at the house for them and had a really fun time! I haven't been too emotional with any of their previous milestones, but I had a really hard time with them turning 2. I was teary-eyed most of the morning!

Grandpa Surface made step stools for each of them. We are using one of them at the bathroom sink so that they can stand up at the sink to wash their hands and brush their teeth.

Yummy - cake!

Wasn't quite as messy as last year, but still just as yummy!

We lit the candle and sang Happy Birthday to each of the kids seperately. Here is Kendall blowing out her candle.

Birthday continued

We set up small tables for the kids to eat at. They actually did very well!

We had a group of deer outside of the window eating in our front yard, so the girls were standing up on the window seat watching them.

Everyone was so generous with gifts for the kids! They got a lot of toys for playing outside (which is nice now that the weather is getting warmer).

EVERYONE loves BUBBLES!

Ice Fishing at Mud Lake

At the beginning of March, the guys were having luck catching pan fish (crappie, blue gill) using jig poles, so we brought the kids out one sunny afternoon.

This is Kaleb's very first fish!

Snowshoeing

Jamie got me snowshoes for Christmas. I admit I didn't use them as much as I should have...but the times I went out I really enjoyed it.
Here are Sarah and I on the frozen river in front of our house

The snow was so deep when we were trying to make a trail in the woods that I was sinking up to my knees even wearing the snowshoes. We got quite a workout because it was so heavy to lift your legs.

We have some cleared trails around our house.

The scenery was so beautiful!

Here is a view of our house standing down at the river. Jamie is on the 4 wheeler with Leo and Reece following behind.

Ice Fishing at Swan Lake

Kendall and Kaleb love playing outside in the snow. We went ice fishing a couple of times. Here we are at Swan Lake. I have been slacking getting our winter pictures out on the blog, so I figured if I put out pictures with snow in them, maybe the snow on our ground would melt!
