Enjoying the Spring weather

We've been taking advantage of the spring weather! We went on Sunday to Horse Race Rapids right in Crystal Falls and watched the river flow over the rapids. There are huge rock formations to climb on as you walk down the river. Some of my favorite childhood memories are here...now passing them on to my children!

Happy 1st Birthday (Detroit Party)

It's official! We have survived the first year - Ha! Kendall and Kaleb turned 1 on April 5th. It has actually been such a wonderful year, that I wish time would slow down. Everyone always tells you it is going to happen, but they are growing up too fast!

We had a birthday party for them in Detroit at Jamie's sister Shawn and her husband Tom's house. I heard somewhere that for twins, you should always sing 'Happy Birthday' twice so that they each get their own turn when you say only their name. I'm going to put too many pictures out here, but we had such at great time that I couldn't just sum it up in a couple pictures.

Kaleb is doing his famous 'cheese' smile

We had to put them right into the tub! It was so much fun to watch them enjoy their cake!

Opening presents

It was such a nice day that we were able to have everyone outside on the deck. Of course, they were more than spoiled by all of our generous family and friends. It is kind of neat to have a birthday in April because it is a good chance to get ready for spring/summer with new clothes and outdoor activity items. Thanks to everyone!

K & K started playing with their gifts right away!

Hanging out with cousins

Jamie's sister Shawn and her husband Tom had a beautiful baby girl a couple of weeks ago. Her name is Marlee and she is such a good baby. We were so happy that we were able to see her. Kendall and Kaleb had so much fun with their other cousins, Madison and Keiley.

Uncle Jamie is being hounded by "the girls".

For some reason, the dog bed was a big attraction....

Playing at the Park

Before we left on Sunday to drive home, we took advantage of the nice weather and walked to the park near Shawn's house. The kids had a blast!

Kaleb liked his first swing ride!

So did Kendall! She would giggle everytime the swing came close to me.

Keiley (left) and Madison (right) were awesome with the kids! We love them so much!

Happy 1st Birthday (in Crystal Falls)

We also had a birthday party for them in Crystal Falls. Kendall was not very fond of wearing her hat, so this was a quick snap shot before she took it off.

Grandma and Grandpa are so happy to have us close!

K & K had a few friends join them at the party. We will have quite a few 1st birthday parties to celebrate in the next 5 months.
We made sure to sing Happy Birthday twice - once for each of them.

Happy Easter (a little late)!

I'm just getting back around to posting more of our Easter pictures. We hosted Easter dinner at our home after church. Kendall received a stuffed bunny that she is obsessed with! I wish I would have made it back to the store to buy a couple 'back ups' in case this one ever gets lost. We call it her 'bun bun' and she carries it everywhere.

K & K got little camping chairs for this summer! How fun!

Cookies and Frosting - Yummy!

I made cookies for Easter that were egg shaped with frosting. We turned the kids loose on them the night before Easter - they sure LOVED IT!

Kendall ate hers very neatly

Kaleb really enjoyed the frosting!

Reece even got in on the action! She's no dummy - she goes where the food is!

Preparing for Easter

On Good Friday we colored Easter eggs with the kids.

Their Auntie Shawn, Uncle Tom and cousins Madison, Keiley and Marlee (just born) gave them singing ducks that do the 'chicken dance'. The kids love them!
