First Playdate in Crystal Falls

K & K hosted their first playdate in Crystal Falls with most of their little friends. Five of my highschool girlfriends (plus me) all had kids within a few months of each other. There are 5 little girls and 2 little boys (not all were able to make it to our house). Right in Crystal Falls, Kaleb is the only boy - so he really wants Drew to visit often! It is going to be so much fun to watch the kids play together!

Kaleb's first haircut

Kaleb got his first haircut on Feb 23rd. His bangs were really long and we had to do a comb over to keep them out of his eyes (we would call him little Donald Trump). Good thing my friend Jen could come right to our house! We did it near the end of his dinner so he was distracted. He looks so cute - like a little boy instead of a baby!

Basketball fans!

In February there were a couple of high school basketball games (both boys and girls) that we went to. Kendall was really into watching the kids run up and down the court! Kaleb was really into waving at everyone in the stands!

Their friend Jonnie Ketola was also at the game.

This is the same gym that I played basketball and volleyball in during highschool.

Kaleb is a cheese ball!

As most of you that have regularly visited this site could already tell - Kaleb loves the camera. If he sees a flash go off, he looks around until he spots the camera and just starts smiling. His latest "cheese" is a full face, squinty eye, head tilted smile! It is hilarious! Since I haven't given an update lately on milestones, here is what he has been up to:

Weight: 18 lbs, 7 oz
Height: 29 inches
Kaleb is crawling like crazy, really good at pulling himself up onto the tables, couches, etc and starting to walk while hanging onto the edge of the table/couch or behind a push toy. He still really likes books, but is truly a busy body! He is very squirmy when you try to get him dressed. He has 2 teeth on the bottom, with 2 more popping through on the top. He says the standard "mama", "dada", "baba" and loves to giggle. You can tell when he is getting tired because he becomes even more giggly. Just the other day, I watched him climb up the first few stairs in the basement (the front part of our basement is finished). He is getting to be such a big boy!

Kendall is so sweet!

Kendall is turning into such a nice little girl! For a little while, she was being a little stinker by crawling up to Kaleb and taking what ever toy or book he was looking at out of his hands, then just putting it down...she wasn't interested in it, but didn't want Kaleb to have it. This behavior seems to have mellowed out quite a bit. She is now ALL ABOUT giving hugs and kisses to her toys, dolls, books, blankets...pretty much everything! It is so cute!

Weight: 16 lbs, 13 oz

Height: 27 inches

She is also crawling like crazy, really good at pulling up onto the tables, couches, etc and starting to walk while hanging onto the edge of the table/couch or behind a push toy. She will also let go of things and stand up for a few seconds! I think that she will walk before Kaleb. She has 2 teeth on the bottom, with 1 more popping through on the bottom and 2 more popping through on the top. She also says the standard "mama", "dada", "baba" and is very good at mimicking sounds that you make. She is very active, but not quite as squirmy as Kaleb - she is much easier to dress! Ha! A few weeks ago at my mom and dad's house, she climbed up about 6 stairs.

It's Ofiicial - We're Yoopers!

I know that I haven't been very good about posting new blogs lately, but we have been very busy with the move, unpacking and getting settled. The move went very well - we filled a 26 foot U-Haul, plus a 12 foot trailer (every square inch)! We are currently renting a nice home in Crystal Falls. The kids adjusted very well - no sleep problems or anything. I was a little bit worried that they would have some problems, but they have been great!

Here is the U-Haul before we left Indy at the beginning of Feb. Thank you to everyone that helped us pack up in Indy, and unpack in Crystal Falls!!!!!!

Yes - on a few below zero nights we talk about how we probably could have picked a better time of year to move to Upper Michigan, but we have actually been enjoying the winter wonderland! Jamie and I have been out cross-country skiing a few times and it was really fun! He has also gotten to go ice fishing. Kendall and Kaleb have had a few sled rides and stroller rides. The snow banks at the end of our driveway are about chest high, and Jamie has had to use the snowblower a couple of times. Reece has also been having a blast up here!

Here are the twins with Dan and Jessie

Goofy!

I think I got our first "funniest home video". I had the camcorder on them while they were sitting in the basket. They both turned to me and tipped over, fell out of the basket and both got right back up and crawled away. It was really funny!

Dinner time nap

K & K are generally very good eaters. A couple of months ago they stopped wanting to be fed by us using a spoon, instead they want to feed themselves finger food (they are like mr. and miss independant). So, we are no longer using baby foods or grinding vegetables/fruits to spoon feed, instead we are fixing meals and cutting up their portions into small chunks. They both have 2 teeth on the bottom, and 2 coming in on the top. They eat every type of fruit and vegetable, meat, avocado and even tofu.

Tonight however...Kaleb just couldn't stay awake! He had a very short afternoon nap, and that caught up with him! Below is both a picture and a video.

Saying goodbye

Although we are happy to be starting the next chapter of our lives (in Michigan), it was very hard to say goodbye to our friends in Indianapolis, that we have grown to love very much over the past 7-8 years of our lives! We will never forget the MANY good times that we have had together! We went from being new hires out of college, to getting engaged/married, buying first homes, traveling together, starting our families - becoming real "grown ups" together! We will miss you - but promise to come back and visit. Plus, there is always an open invite for you to head north...although you might want to wait until the weather warms up a bit! Brrrr!

Last Few Days...

Before we left, they were just starting to love to look out the front window in our living room.

Here they are playing with formula cans on the kitchen floor with things inside that make noise. They would crawl after them rolling on the floor. But don't worry...all of the toys from Christmas are being played with too! Ha!

Fun for both!

The race is on!

Both Crawling/Racing really well!

The last video of them crawling showed Kaleb doing a funky army crawl. He has now mastered crawling like his sister...they actually race around the house now!

Don't forget these!

K & K were helping me pack one afternoon. We are getting so excited for our move to Michigan!
