Journey to Crystal Falls!
Well - having twins does a lot to a family dynamic! If I were to describe the past couple of months in one word, I would say, "Transformation."
We have decided to move from Indianapolis, IN to Crystal Falls, MI. And believe me - it has been a long journey to get to this point. If you would of told me 7 years ago, when we moved to Indianapolis, I would be relocating to the upper peninsula of MI, you would of been seriously "off your rocker." But here we are... soon to be Crystal Falls residents.
If you have been keeping up with the blogs, Crystal Falls happens to be the hometown of Jill. Crystal Falls is located just north of WI (Click here to see a map = here). It is a wonderful town of 1800 wonderful people (city-data.com). There is an abundance of community warmth, spirit, wild life, spectacular views and outdoor sporting. Oh - they are also known for the humongous fungus festival - a large party to promote the one of the largest living organisms in the world. The very famous Crystal Falls Trojans High School football team has made it to state finals the past 4 years while taking the championship this past year. Seriously, we could not be happier to live in Crystal Falls, if it is just for a summer or for multiple years.
Most of all, we are looking forward to being closer to Jill's family to help with Kendy and Kal. Jill and I decided to make it priority to live near immediate family. We have a great life here in Indy, with spectacular friends (almost family), good jobs, nice house, but there is something to be said about residing close to immediate family. It will be nice to live near Kendall and Kaleb grandparents, aunt and uncle to reap the spoiling benefits they deserve.
We will miss our entire Indy crew, but we will be back once a quarter. Lilly has been nice enough to give me a teleworker role within my current organization. I am really looking forward to working with Lilly still.
Wish us luck in the next couple of weeks because we will need it. We are moving, potentially buying a place to live and getting use to the laid back life Crystal Falls provides. We hope to have out of town visitors early and often...
Jill's Mom (and Mom's sisters) have property on Lake Mary, which is only 7 minutes from our rental.
Reece is probably the happiest dog you ever met because of this decision... She is jumping for joy (or her ball!)
Just an example of the scenery...
