NFC North has the best fans!

On December 30th the Lions and the Packers played against each other, so the twins had to get all dressed up and cheer! They haven't aligned with a team yet themselves and we try to be fair by switching them off and on between team attire (however Kaleb never puts the cheerleading outfit on...that would be funny...hmmm that's an idea for an afternoon that Jamie is at work). Kendall tried her hardest, but the Lions just couldn't beat the Packers!

Outdoor fun!

Jamie caught a 24" walleye ice fishing - second largest walleye he has caught in the Yoop.

Kendall and Kaleb got sleds for Christmas. Their new friend Ella came over for a ride too! Kendall loved it, Kaleb liked it when the sled was moving, but got a little bit fussy whenever they stopped.

Fun times with Family

We started our christmas vacation in Detroit with Jamie's family and had a great time with everyone! That is what the holidays are about - spending time with loved ones! We stayed at his sister's house and the twins had a blast with their cousins, and Madi and Keiley were so good with them! 4 kids under the age of 3 in the same house kept us very busy! We also got to spend some time with Grandma and Papa Porcaro and uncle T, which we really enjoyed. Jamie even organized the 5th annual 'old vs young' flag football game, which they played in the snow, on the frozen tundra of Novi (picture coming soon).

Kendall and Kaleb loved Madi's "pony" - here with uncle Tom and uncle T. That is what Madi told Santa she wanted for Christmas...I think she meant a real one! Ha!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was spent at uncle Jim and aunt Flo's. Great-grandma Dee, most aunts and uncles (we missed you, Kim & Mark) and cousins were there. Unfortunately , Madison became ill (for the second Christmas Eve in a row...poor girl...), so the Tobin's missed out on the Wii bowling tournament and festivities.

Opening Presents

K & K were much more into opening gifts than we thought they would be. I think it was kind of like a competition for them, so if one was touching the box or ripping the paper, the other one had to get right in and do the same! Of course, like all babies, they loved the paper and the boxes the best!

Santa comes early!

Before we left home for the holidays, we had the kids open some of their gifts (primarily so that we didn't have to haul it with us, partly so we could celebrate with our new "immediate" family). I had heard something from a mother of multiples that said in an attempt to keep the gift giving under control, they give their kids 4 things (something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read). We did that this year with the kids...it is harder than it sounds!

Reece taught the kids how to open their presents! Ha! Check her out in the background.

They can crawl!!!

Well...it is official. They are ON THE MOVE!!!! Now the real fun begins!!!!

Kendall is officially crawling at 8 1/2 months!!!! For a few weeks she was rocking back and forth on all 4's. She was also scooting backwards, but finally on the night of Dec 19th she just started crawling forward!!! She is such a little peanut, but looks so cute!

Click on the video below to view her crawling (may take a while to load)

Kaleb is also getting up on all 4's. Kaleb is able to very quickly get from one side of the room to the other. It is just not very pretty! He is doing this army crawl/sholder pivot thing. Once he realizes that he is strong enough to stay up on his arms, then he is going to be off to the races!

Ralphie's Little Brother

Does this picture make anyone think of Ralphie's little brother from A Christmas Story? Yep - that's about how excited K & K were to get out into their first snow! We got a few inches in Indianapolis over the weekend and thought they would like to play in it... probably didn't help that it was right at their nap time...not quite a cozy crib! Ha!

Big Highchairs!!!

Kendall and Kaleb get very exicted about eating finger foods cut up really small off of their highchair trays (avocado, bananas, carrots, Gerber "puffs").

Kendall took over the spoon and tried to feed herself!

Visit with Santa

Lilly hosted a Christmas Party at the Children's Museum on Saturday night (Dec 8th). K & K got to meet Santa for the first time! They both liked him very much!

We got them all dressed up for the occasion!

Looks like all Kaleb needs is a corn-cob pipe!

Kendall was so sweet in her fancy dress and tights! Jamie had fun dressing her in her 4 piece outfit...took him a while to figure it all out!

8 months old!

It is hard to believe that Kendall and Kaleb are already 8 months old! They are both sitting up by themselves with no problem - seems like they can sit for as long as they want to. Rolling over and over (especially when we are trying to change their diaper). They are both getting up onto their hands and knees and rocking back and forth, using their arms to reach and turn in circles and scooting backwards - it is just a matter of time before they start crawling...then watch out!!! They are babbling and very vocal (lots of mama, baba - Jamie is waiting for the dada). Kendall has 2 teeth, Kaleb does not have any yet. They are able to stand up and hold onto something if you put them there, not yet pulling themselves up (thankfully). I am still nursing, but starting the weaning process, which they are taking very well. All in all, very happy babies!

A mother of older twins told me at a second hand store that this was her lifesaver. It was on sale for $4 (yes - $4) so I thought I would try it out. They LOVE to sit in it and share their toys with one another (or steal toys from one another, we are not sure which). I guess once they start crawling, they can crawl in and out of the ends.

New Things

Kendall's new thing the past week has been FISHY LIPS! It is so cute!

Kaleb is so proud of himself for standing up!
