Heading to Crystal Falls
On Sunday, we left Houghton Lake. Jill's Mom and Dad came down to help Jill drive back up to the U.P. to hang out with her family for a couple of weeks. I will be joining them for the second week there.
These pictures are from a rest stop just past the Mackinac Bridge in the U.P. on Sunday with Lake Michigan as the back drop.

Fish Fry
On Friday, it is tradition to have a fish fry, but usually there is no fish to pass around because we didnt catch any... not this year. We actually didnt eat all the fish and we were OK with that. Thanks to Uncle Mike and Uncle Ray for coordinating and making this happen (catching fish and getting everyone together).

The Kids first Pow-Wow
It is tradition at Houghton Lake to attend the infamous indian pow-wow. This was the first year for Kendall and Kaleb, with many more years to attend the wonderful event (ahhh!).
Being the center of attention with the tribe coordinator. In the middle of the show, they showed how the tribe would put their babies to sleep. We were able to have the twins put to sleep by the tribe.

The next generation... Im scared to see how this crew runs. Kaylin, Madison, Kenzie and Keiley.

NO WAY... FISH!
Well... Uncle Mike and Uncle Ray found the fish for the first time in many years. It was great. My boat was never skunked! We always caught fish.
Here were the main fishin gurus... Dennis, Uncle Mike, Emily, Sam, Uncle Ray, Becky (the number one guru - catchin 3 17" walleyes) and Eric.

Shawn wouldnt touch the Northern so she just held it by the lure...

Madison enjoyed fishing... she loved playing with the bobbers and listening to the radio.
And yes - the twins made it out one morning. They slept most of the time, but were very content on the water.

Kendall enjoys fishing!

Kaleb staying out of the sun with Mom.

The tears were flowin...
Jackie was able to surprise many of us with her trip up to Houghton Lake. She is now in the armed forces and any time her family is able to see her, they are extremely happy. Thanks for all you do!
Jackie, Aunt List and Kaleb.

We had another surprise as well. Chris proposed to Michelle at Houghton Lake. It was a great story to hear how traditional he was about asking Uncle Mike to marry Michelle. During the traditional talk to ask Uncle Mike to marry his daughter, Uncle Mike expressed how many memories we have had in the previous years at Houghton Lake. This made one more Houghton Lake trip a memory for the McHugh family. To ask Michelle, he used glow sticks stuck in the ground that read something like, "Will You Marry Me." Good idea!

My Sis (The Tobins) Arrives
Shawn and the girls (Madison and Keiley) were able to make it up on Tuesday. It was really nice to be able to hang out with the girls. Tom made it up on Thursday just in time for the Pow-wow!
We went for a boat road ride to Hav-a-gooday to see everyone on when they arrived.

Keiley enjoying the swing.

Kaylin and Madison really enjoyed one anothers company.

Our cottage at Houghton Lake
We were fortunate enough to find a cottage large enough to fit a large crew of my family. I think we had close to 10 people situated in very tight courters and no one went home mad at each other. It was great to be with my sis, bro, Madison, Keily, Tom and Jenny (and of course Jill and K&K). We stayed about 4 miles away from everyone else (aunt, uncles and cousins) and had a great time.
T and I playing with K&K

Jenny was a great help with the twins. She came up with Jill and I to have another helpful hand around the cottage.

Update on Kendall
Kendall received good results from her sleep study at Riley's Children's Hospital. The pulmonologist said that she only needs to wear her oxygen and apnea monitor when she is sleeping at night. She loves being cord free during the day! We did another over night sleep study on Tuesday night and if those results come back positive, then hopefully she will be taken off of her oxygen for good!

More family and friends to meet
My mom and sister organized an open house for people to stop out and meet Kendall and Kaleb. It was so nice to see everyone! Kaleb slept during the entire party (probably just wanting to block out the noises from a house full of women...ha!) and Kendall stayed awake the entire party looking and smiling at everyone. We think she is going to be a social butterfly!
